This position involves interaction with the public both in the office and in the field. The Code Enforcement Officer is responsible for assisting in the issuing of permits, inspections, maintaining records, reviewing plans, interpreting plans and related documents, investigating complaints, answering inquiries by phone or in person, and providing staff support to boards and committees. The Town Books for the 2025 fiscal year will close on December 31, 2025. Tax payments must be received by 1:00 PM at the Houlton Town Office on December 31, 2025, or U.S. postmarked on or before December 31, 2025, to be accepted for the 2025 fiscal year. Outstanding taxes as of January 1, 2026 will be printed in the annual Town Report.
