The Town of Houlton is accepting bids for the purchase of the municipality’s interest in tax acquired property identified on the Town of Houlton’s Assessor’s records dated April 1, 2017 as follows:

Each bid must be in writing and in a sealed envelope marked  “tax sale bid” on the outside. Any person wishing to bid on more than one property must submit a separate bid for each one.  Each bid must also include the bidder’s name, mailing address and phone number and be accompanied by a deposit in the form of a certified check or money order, in an amount not less than 20% of the bid price. Any bid which does not contain the proper deposit will be rejected. The successful bidder’s deposit will be credited to the total purchase price for the parcel. Deposits will be returned to the unsuccessful bidders. High bidders who submit the same bid will be given the opportunity to submit a new bid.
